You're encouraged to check out this new journal, though. Most everything will be friends only, with maybe a few entries left open to the public for fun. Like a teaser, you know?
If you were my friend in my old journal, you're my friend in my new journal, but I'm leaving you the option of friending me or not. You make the first move. I'm shy.
If you weren't my friend in my old journal for one reason or another, there's no reason you can't be now. I'm not hiding anything from anyone, so really, leave a comment and I'll add you on.
Go ahead, click the button. It only nibbles out of affection.

FREE ART
Sep. 13th, 2008 | 04:39 pm
mood:
creative
In return, all I ask is that you to hang it on your refrigerator and tell people where it came from and that they can have one for free, too, if they just e-mail me. You can mail it to someone, too, just ask them to hang it on their fridge, etc.
Just e-mail me: posalootly//at//gmail and tell me what you want and where to send it.
This is really good for me because:
1. It will keep me busy and creative. I did a lot of drawing and coloring the past few days and the artistic process is very nice.
2. It will get my name and art out into the world.
3. The more art I make, the better I get. The better I get, the more art will be requested. The more art requested, the more I get recognized. The more I get recognized, the more my art is worth.
4. ???
5. Profit!
So, e-mail me! Be as specific or non-specific as you want. I’ll do my best.
Love,
Caroline
(PS - I know this has already been done. Shh.)

Dream

amused
Before that, I was a superhero in a bleak future world ruled by a Big Brother figure. All TV was watched by the entire world at the same time in one place, meaning that once a month, everyone had to travel to a central location to put all of their pixels together to watch TV on a big screen. it was pretty much the worst thing. I stood up for the world's rights and asked if we could listen to our own music. The ruler said, "Well, you better get used to British indie rock" and I said that was fine, "but what if we want something else? Can we download it?" and he said, "Well, sort of..." and it dawned on me, "You mean we have to buy it?" "Well, yes--" and the whole crowd went into an uproar of anger at the thought of having to buy music again.

To anyone in the Manhattan/Brooklyn area looking for a roommate

hopeful
music: Rochester, NY
Hello!
My name is Caroline, I'm a student at Rochester Institute of Technology interested in communication and film. I just snagged a dream apprenticeship in the city for this summer working for Vimeo.com (the office is a few blocks away from Gramercy Park) and I'm trying to find a place to lay my head at night from mid June to late August (though this is flexible).
I'm a cheerful, low-maintenance, clean, and friendly student, originally from the Baltimore area. I believe that people are inherently good, but spent enough time around the city to recognize the importance of locking your doors and having street smarts. Omnivore, but really more of a free-gan (eat meat when it's free, try to eat healthy/organic/veggie the rest of the time).
I love pets, though I have none. Drug-free, laid back, liberal, open-minded, and more than willing to take my fair share of the cleaning around the house. I enjoy adventuring, exploring, trying new things, and find that the best things in life to be the ones people seldom notice. I also bake a mean white chocolate pound cake. :]
I'm hoping to pay somewhere between $500-850/month.
Do you know somewhere safe I can stay for the summer? I hope to hear from you soon. Please pass this on if you know someone else who might be able to help.
Caroline

Mr Tastee
Sep. 9th, 2007 | 08:44 pm
mood:
WOE IS ME
music: "Hey Sandy" Polaris
Just now, I was reading up about the Adventures of Pete & Pete (my favorite) on Wiki and I came acros something that broke my childhood heart. Just as a magician never reveals his secrets, no one should ever reveal the identity of Mr. Tastee.
You might remember Mr. Tastee, the ice cream man who brought joys to the children of Wellsville. Little Pete wanted to be his friend, but Mr Tastee would never allow him or anyone else to get close to him. Never did Mr. Tastee remove his swirly cone mascot head, never did anyone know the true identity of Mr Tastee. As no one should.
But Wikipedia, the foul beast, knows all. Including the identity of Mr Tastee. And lo, my eyes did befall his name and immediately did mine mind link itself to the truth. My childhood cried out in pain, reeling back, images of Mr Tastee and summer flashing away, away, gone, replaced by the actor inside the jolly ice cream man and his Tastee Mobile.
Nothing will ever be the same ever again. My universe is cracked, and nothing will bring it back. No amount of whipped cream and or cherries on top (or even rainbow sprinkles, so don't even try!)

Cake making, dancing in Cleveland
Aug. 31st, 2007 | 01:05 am
location: UC 778, room D
mood:
excited
( Yellow cake/sliced strawberries + chocolate frosting = pictures! )
It turned out not to be as wonderful as I had hoped, but my roommates liked it well enough. Hopefully when the people across the hall come to claim their cake, they will like it too. I can only hope.
In other news! Glynn and I are roadtripping to Cleveland tomorrow. It's a four hour drive that will end at Case Western University for a weekend workshop. I'll also get to see Josh in there somewhere, but I think Glynn will be chilling with him most of the time getting drunk and possibly disorderly. I'll be at two dances and about 5 workshops. Josh and Mat are going to take a beginners swing class (which means Josh and Matt will most likely have an encounter. Awkward? Perhaps. Ironic? A tad. Hilarious? Definitely.)

My arms hurt from typing and using a computer so much. I'm just going to lay here. I want people to call me, but I don't know what I'd say. Really I just want to curl up in a ball and have someone stroke my hair until I fall asleep and tell me everything will be okay.

Bohemian Rhapsody.

Josh Rothhaas: aight
Caroline Martin: I got in the car, feeling kind of bad about not getting as much work done as I wanted today
Caroline Martin: Decide, okay, radio, why the hell not?
Caroline Martin: I hit a few buttons and on the third one, I hear the opening chord of Bohemian Rhapsody and I'm like, hell yes.
Caroline Martin: It starts playing, and I start getting into it
Caroline Martin: by the time it gets into the "I see a little silouetto of a man" bit
Caroline Martin: I'm singing at the top of my lungs at a stop light, people in other cars are STARING and LAUGHING at me
Caroline Martin: and I feel like I'm the best fucking gig in town and they got front row seats
Caroline Martin: because I am so into it
Josh Rothhaas: nice!
Caroline Martin: and i'm rocking out, right?
Caroline Martin: and I pull into the suicide/left turning lane to get into my neighborhood
Caroline Martin: and it gets to the rock out part
Caroline Martin: and I rock out
Caroline Martin: going down my street
Caroline Martin: drum solo and everything
Caroline Martin: head bangin
Caroline Martin: as as I pull into my garage
Caroline Martin: the song ends right on cue.
Caroline Martin: Like, as if that song was meant just for me, just for my ride home.
Caroline Martin: And it is stuff like that that makes me feel like the universe loves me and wants me to be happy
Caroline Martin: the end.
Josh Rothhaas: hah
Josh Rothhaas: it does
Josh Rothhaas: it does indeed
Indeed.
